U.S. Congressman Jim Himes is scheduled to appear at Westport and Greenwich senior centers Wednesday to answer questions about how federal health care reform will impact seniors.
As a disclaimer, let’s just say it’s not surprising Himes and other Democrats are working hard to promote the health bill now that it has passed. If you listen to the pundits, how Americans perceive the law is likely to have a big impact on whether many Democratic lawmakers are re-elected. Among other effects of the bill, signed by President Obama last week, Himes is touting a provision to close what’s know as the “donut hole” in Medicaid coverage prescription drug benefits, a problem seniors have bemoaned for years.
